Broken characters
Where are the carpenters,
To mend our broken characters,
Yes, carpenters to saw and file,
And smoothen the rough moral edges?
Where indeed are the masons,
To lay a true and solid,
Democratic foundation,
Where the leader will serve dutifully,
And the followers obey effortlessly,
Without recourse to correction?
Where are the cleaners,
To clean the conscience,
Of the debris of atrocities,
To usher in the new era,
Of flawless attitude to work?
Where are the bankers,
Who will save our age long tradition,
Our purity of purpose, our hospitality,
From the bandits of acculturation,
And store in their strong room,
Our enviable moral traditions?
Where are the teachers,
(Oh, many cheaters abound),
Who themselves disciplined,
Will teach and uphold the discipline,
Which promotes national growth,
Who will hold high the ethics,
Of the profession,
And encourage their wards to do same?
Where are the builders,
Who will build a truly,
Virile country?
Where are the carpenters,
To mend our broken characters,
Yes, carpenters to saw and file,
And smoothen the rough moral edges?
Where indeed are the masons,
To lay a true and solid,
Democratic foundation,
Where the leader will serve dutifully,
